PC 16 Professional Espresso Machine

Amazon.comPerhaps it’s not surprising that an Italian company such as La Pavoni takes its espresso and cappuccino very seriously. The detailed manual and video that come with this professional-style machine spare no small detail while guiding you through the espresso and cappuccino process. With proper equipment, La Pavoni argues, including very fine grounds and a state-of-the art machine, an espresso or cappuccino can be a work of art. Because cafe prices are rising and an improperly made espresso is indistinguishable from mud, it’s worth investing the time and equipment required for a rich and truly satisfying espresso experience. For me, one thing that separates a barista-style cappuccino from many homemade efforts is the quality of the foam. The Europiccola produces foam with just right amount of frothiness, although the foam can also be controlled if you prefer less enthusiastic frothing. For top-quality cappuccinos, the machine should be descaled four or five times a year (descaling instructions are included). Made of gleaming chrome, this strikingly attractive machine should not be cleaned with abrasives. –Laura CuthbertEditor’s note: This item may arrive with water inside from the manufacturer’s pressure test. This is a normal occurrence and doesn’t point to a problem with the machine.Product DescriptionThe La Pavoni PC-16 Professional Espresso Machine blends timeless Italian design with expert-level performance, making it the ideal centerpiece for home baristas and espresso purists. This lever-operated model offers precise control over every step of the brewing process, giving you the ability to pull espresso shots that rival your favorite café. With its polished chrome finish and sleek black accents, the PC-16 is as much a statement piece as it is a precision tool. Inside, a solid 38-ounce nickel-plated brass boiler maintains steady brewing temperatures and minimizes limescale buildup, allowing you to brew up to 16 shots per fill. Using the manual lever system, you can brew 1 or 2 shots at a time-perfect for single servings or sharing. To ensure a rich, bold flavor and avoid dilution, the portafilter should be reloaded with fresh coffee grounds for each brewing cycle, whether you’re making a single or double shot. Frothing milk is just as versatile. Use the traditional steam wand for hands-on milk texturing or opt for the Automatic Cappuccino Maker for easy, consistent foam. The integrated pressure gauge offers real-time brewing insights, helping you dial in each shot with precision. Built with food-safe stainless steel heating elements and handcrafted with attention to detail in Italy, the La Pavoni PC-16 is designed to deliver exceptional espresso for years to come. Note: Units may arrive with slight moisture or markings from the factory’s quality assurance testing process-this is normal and ensures full functionality.
